Double or Triple Your Gift and Help Students While Helping Others
During our remarkable ReMix Summit on campus this fall, distinguished alumnus Terry Jones ’70 challenged us all to be active and generous supporters of student entrepreneurship at Denison. Terry, a renowned digital disruptor and serial entrepreneur, founder of Travelocity, and founding chairman of Kayak.com, is deeply committed to entrepreneurship education.
In doing so, Terry offered to personally match, dollar-for-dollar, our gifts toward two exciting entrepreneurial initiatives.
1: Triple your Money in Support of Venture Philanthropy at Denison.
Your gift to the Denison Venture Philanthropy program will be matched twice.
It will first be matched by Terry, and then again by a grant from Park National Bank. Every $1 you donate becomes a $3 addition to the DVP endowment. This uniquely Denison program enables students to learn about and engage directly in social venture investing that helps our neighbors and strengthens area charities. In this program, students get hands-on experience with venture investing and enhance their leadership skills, all while being of service to surrounding communities.
Terry has challenged our ReMix participants to support DVP. He will match the first $15,000 given for DVP. The combined gifts will then be matched by Park National Bank and added to the DVP endowment and will provide a permanent source of funding for social venture grants to charities in the greater Denison community.
There is an upcoming deadline for this initiative. It is Dec. 31, 2022. Terry and Park National will only be able to match gifts that are made through the end of the current calendar year, so please contribute now to multiply the value of your financial support for Denison Venture Philanthropy. Click or tap here to give to the Denison Venture Philanthropy program by Dec. 31.
2: Double your Gift in Support of Student Entrepreneurship Opportunities at Denison
You believe in the power of entrepreneurship education at Denison and so does Terry.
He stands ready to join you in supporting this cause we all hold dear. Terry will match up to $250,000 of gifts made to the Denison endowment that are dedicated to student entrepreneurship. Income from these funds held in perpetuity supports the Red Frame Lab, Red Corps, ReMix, internships and other career development experiences, Denison Venture Philanthropy, and more. Nearly half of our students have been involved in these innovative and life-changing opportunities.
You can invest and double your impact in two ways.
First, you can establish your own endowed fund with a minimum gift of $50,000 (payable over up to five years). Terry will then add $50,000 to your newly established endowed fund you can name for yourself or another, or both. Also, you’ll enjoy hearing from students, faculty, and staff about the outstanding entrepreneurship opportunities you’ve made possible every year thereafter. To make your pledge of $50,000 or more, or to request a personal consultation, please contact Kurt Foriska by email at foriskak@denison.edu or by phone at (740) 587-6733, and she or another Denison gift officer will be in touch with you promptly.
Second, if $50k is too much to commit at this time, you can still be part of this exciting initiative and have your gift doubled. Make a donation in any amount (also payable over up to five years) to the Denison Alumni & Friends Endowment for Entrepreneurship, and Terry will match your total up to a combined sum of $50,000. Click or tap here to contribute to this fund and have your gift doubled.
